Berlin

Almost 892 square kilometers in size and with a population of 3.3 million, Berlin is the capital city and seat of government in the Federal Republic of Germany. A federal state in its own right, Berlin forms the center of the Berlin/Brandenburg Metropolitan Region.

Beyond its vibrancy, the capital city provides access to excellent infrastructure, proximity to the most important decision makers, and goal-based business incentives.

A number of companies’ decision to locate their businesses in Berlin has helped make the city a strong business location. Major concerns including Daimler, Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Telekom, Siemens, and Sony have set up headquarters in the city.

Just as many small and medium-sized, mostly young and innovative companies have made Berlin their home. Berlin is also an important center for the creative and media industry sectors. In just two decades, Germany’s biggest city has not only become a gateway between east and west, but has been transformed into one of the most vibrant, creative, and innovative cities in the world. The city is also characterized by a multitude of science and research institutions, making it Germany’s strongest research region since 2012. The synergy effects that arise from the interaction of the city’s four universities, the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, seven colleges and four art schools, 29 private colleges and more than 60 research facilities, contribute significantly to the success enjoyed by many companies.

As a result, the region is making a significant contribution to economic growth in Germany. This emerging location is the ideal environment for an innovative company like Vodafone. The capital region’s extensive work-life balance offer is also highly attractive to companies and employees alike.

Last but not least, Berlin provides its residents with an outstanding quality of life – which also serves to attract countless tourists to the capital each year. The city’s diverse cultural attractions range from museums and sites of historical interest to music and theater events of all kind. And, were this not enough, a pulsating night life and excellent shopping opportunities provide further attraction in the teeming metropolis.
